For Love of Ivy – A family unit desires to hang on to their servant, so they find her a man to keep her happy. The movie is a ho-hum black romance at best. Cast includes Sidney Poitier, Abbey Lincoln, Guy Bridges, Leon Bibb, Nan, Martin, Lauri Peters, and Carroll O’Connor. (102 minutes, 1968)

The General Died at Dawn – Fine drama of Oriental intrigue, with mercenary Cooper falling in love with foreign agent Carroll when combating sinister warlord Tamiroff. Cast Gary Cooper, Madeleine Carroll, Akim Tamiroff, Dudley Digges, Porter Chamber, and William Frawley. (97 minutes, 1936)

Scream 3 – As the title implies this is the third motion picture in the Scream series. Sydney has run away to Northern California, and is in hiding. Back in L.A. they are filming a film about Sydney’s life. When there are a series of murders on the set of the movie, Sydney must return to L.A. and help the cops locate the murderer.

They Only Kill Their Masters – Fantastic cast in complicated modem-night thriller set in coastal California town; tries for Daniel Hammett sensation, doesn’t relatively make it. Policeman Garner attempts to crack slaughter of pregnant female, with fearsome Doberman pinscher figuring prominently. Not poor, though a disappointment. Cast includes James Garner, Katharine Ross, Hal Holbrook, Harry Guardino, June Allyson, Peter Lawford, and Ann Rutherford. (97 minutes, 1972)
