Cash Out On Effective Email Marketing

There is one thing that everyone who uses email marketing wants to know and that is this: how can I be sure I get effective email marketing and how can I know the best time to send email? Hold on tight ladies and germs, I am about to tell you.

The thing is, its pretty darn obvious why this question is asked all the time. If all of us email marketers know when our readers are using their computers, then there’s a much better likelihood that they’ll look at it. And of course if they do look at it, they’ll probably open it, and go to our sites, use their credit cards and buy our stuff.

And so email marketers try to find the sweet spot: That point when the recipients email inbox is fairly empty, so your email will be easy to spot. Maybe you want to find a time of the day when the recipient has a few minutes to spare. Perhaps you look for a day of the week when its likely our subscribers are sitting at their computers.

But for the most part, its guesswork. And just guessing the best time to send an email doesn’t put money in your bank accounts.

The easiest way to find out for sure the best time to email your lists, is to follow the simple 2 step system that I follow

Step #1: Find out when most of your recipients are more likely to be online.

You don’t need to guess! Better, check your logs. Know when your website is the most busy. And certainly, know when most of the people on your list joined. If you can find out if there’s a pattern that they joined on a particular day and approximate time range, then you can safely say that is the best time to send an email.

TIP: If your audience is worldwide, then people who sign up for your list on their lunch break in Mumbai is a completely different time then those who are joining during lunch time in Chicago. If you use a service like GetResponce, you can list by region, which allows you to actually send emails to a worldwide audience.

Once you’ve determined when most of your audience is online, for really effective email marketing, you can start sending emails out at that time. But don’t forget about Step #2

Quite simply step #2 is: Track and test your results!

Just because your traffic logs and autoresponder statistics suggest that most people joined on their lunch break doesn’t mean noon is the best time to send an email. Instead, you may find that your list is most responsive late at night, after their home from work and the family is asleep. Or you may find that they’re most responsive to your offers first thing in the morning.

The point to remember is finding out when your readers are online serves as a starting point only. Ultimately however, you will need to test your list to find out when they’re most profitable. That means you need to start creating identical emails, splitting your list, and broadcasting your emails at different times of the day (and also different days).

Of course your subscribers will certainly vote with their wallets. The way to very effective email marketing and to find out for sure when your list is the most eager to respond to your offer is tracking and testing.

Squeezed Links: July 2009

It has been ages since I have round up some links. Perhaps it is because my mind is more on the golf course this summer :) Embrace Pain – Ian nails it on the head exactly why most organizations ditch new processes – they can’t stand to endure the pain the mirror brings. Scrum-Ban – Excellent article as it really illustrates the evolution that most organizations go through as they attempt to move from Agile -> Scrum -> Lean. The 7 Software Development Wastes – Part 1 – A good

Why Do Market Research

If You Are Going To Be An Affiliate Marketer Then One Area You Need To Be Comfortable With Is Market Research… Here’s Why! One area where many affiliates seem to fail is the lack of time given to doing market research before jumping into a niche market to promote the products. Some find that the market they have entered have sub standard products to sell so the returns in commission are very minimal. Others find after building their money sites that the keywords chosen are so competitive
